Triathlon scholarships

Stirling has been identified as a centre of excellence for triathlon and the University’s high performance programme supports international and developing triathletes.

The programme is based around the on-campus National Swimming Academy, with its 50m pool and adjacent MP Jackson Fitness Centre in the Gannochy Sports Centre. There is also unrivalled running and biking terrain in the nearby Ochil hills and Stirlingshire countryside.

Our scholarship athletes are supported by triathlonscotland, the national governing body, whose national high performance training centre is located on the University campus.

Already, the programme has produced a World Junior champion and sent a scholar to the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Squad members compete worldwide in elite level competition including Commonwealth Games, World Cup and ITO Points races, French Grand Prix and other major events throughout the UK.

To be considered, athletes require:

  1. To meet the normal entry requirements to study at the University of Stirling and hold, or be in the process of applying for, a place on a degree programme
  2. To be of national junior standard or above
  3. Be prepared to work hard towards improving their performance

Download an application form and return before the end of February for a September start. Places are confirmed by post before the end of June.
